Fun In the City

First of all, will you please look at how beyond cute this little chunk is?! She is such a beautiful little fatty and just looking at this picture makes me want to kiss her cheeks and pinch her thighs.
Anyway...we always have so much fun when Adam's parents come to visit. I love that it gives us an excuse to explore and enjoy the city and to eat yummy Memphis BBQ.
This trip, we headed over to the Mud Island River Park to cool off and show Grandma and Grandpa the Mississippi River.

Oh my, look at those fat rolls on her legs. Too cute! :)

Cameron got to go for a paddle boat ride with Grandpa and Daddy.

Here we are on the edge of the Mississippi River.
Hehehe...how inappropriate to include a picture of Cameron peeing on a tree. Sorry, that little bum is too cute to leave out!
The BBQ Shop is near Adam's school and is our favorite place for BBQ pork sandwiches. YUM!
We even got a babysitter and headed downtown to Beale Street one evening. Lots of fun shops to look through and more yummy BBQ at BB Kings.

Back to School...Back to School...

To prove to Dad that I'm not a fool! (Can you name that movie? :)

I started preschool this week and am having so much fun! I had forgotten how much hard work putting together a classroom and getting ready for a school year are...but I also forgot how much I love teaching! I have two great classes full of the cutest, sweetest children. Both classes had great first days. The kids were adorable with their backpacks almost as big as they are, and so excited to tell me everything! :) We had a great time reading, making cookies, and even doing some painting! I am really going to enjoy this!! Here are a few pictures of my finished classroom.

This is a view from the door. We painted the black wall with magnetic primer and chalk board paint, so I have a magnetic chalk board...so cool!

I have added some things since I took this picture, but here are my cubby-shelves. They are packed full of books, puzzles, and toys.

Here are the backpack hooks and the cushions the kids sit on during circle time - thanks again for making those mom!

It is going to be a very fun year!!

Happy Birthday Adam!!

I am almost a week late...but I wanted to wish my sweet hubby a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He turned 26 last Saturday and we had a great time celebrating! We put the kids to bed, left them with a babysitter and headed downtown to B.B. Kings on Beale Street. They have incredible food and live music! We went with a group of great friends and had so much fun! We laughed so hard at all the crazy Southerners, and even got out on the dance floor a little! I wish I would have taken my camera!
Anyway, I have been tagged by this a few times and thought now would be a good time to let you know a little more about my one-and-only!

What is his name? Adam Barry Rudd

How long have you been married? Almost 5 Years

How long did you date? From first date to wedding date…Almost 6 Years. There were a few short breaks and one long break (his mission) in between.

How old is he? 26

Who eats more sweets? We both eat way too many!

Who said I love you first? Definitely Him!

Who is taller? Adam, but we’re both shorties!

Who can sing better? We are both totally tone-deaf…sorry babe! We have fun singing loud and out of tune together!

Who is smarter? I think we are both pretty smart in our own ways.

Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but Adam has been great to do it quite often this summer.

Who pays the bills? I do.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at it, or lying down?

Who mows the lawn? Adam…poor guy! Our yard is huge!

Who cooks dinner? Me during the school year, but we have both done it this summer. We really enjoy cooking together.

Who drives? He ALWAYS drives when we are together! He is a great driver and I love that about him!

Who is more stubborn? I’ve always thought I was, but he has his moments.

Who kissed who first? He did! I am a lady and let the man make the first move...it took him long enough though!

Who asked who out first? I did…I was 16 first! So much for being the lady and letting the man make the first move! :) His best friend took me on my first date, and three months later I took him on his very first date!

Who proposed? Adam…TWICE! They were both very sweet and romantic moments. Don’t worry – I said “yes!” both times. Why twice you ask? It is actually a pretty funny story, I’ll have to tell you about it sometime!

Who has more siblings? Me…by a lot! It has definitely made deciding how many kids to have difficult!

Who wears the pants? Adam of course…but I think we make a great team!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY! I hope you know how much I love you and how LUCKY I feel to be your wife!!

Did I just say that out loud?!?

You are not going to believe what I just did! Hopefully, those of you that know me would say I am a nice/friendly person. Well, apparently not if you cross me at the wrong time...I didn't sleep well last night, had a rough morning with the kids, and took Brooklyn with me to the store to pick up some feminine items (that excuses it all - right?). As we were leaving, a very large woman came up and started talking to me about Brooklyn's weight. This was not "She is so chubby and cute" (I don't mind that at all). It was, "What are you feeding this baby...does she do anything but eat...how about getting her out of this car seat once in a while so she can get some exercise..." I just stood there taking it and getting angrier by the minute!

Her final comment was, "Wow little girl, you are SO FAT!"

Followed by mine, "Brooklyn, say 'Thanks, so are you!' " :)

She gave me a quick "did she just say what I think she said?" look before I turned and walked away. I am feeling very guilty now, but at the time it just felt really good - further proof that I really am not the nice person I thought I was!!

Apparently, you should watch out for me today! :)

Obsessed, I know...

But so much fun!!

Last night must go down in history as one of the best "girls night out" ever!! I met some fantastic friends at Chili's for delicious dinner and then off to Barnes & Nobel to be obsessed Twilight fans!

Yes, we arrived at 9:45, so we would be first in line (Red "A" wrist bands)...Yes, we took a million pictures (unfortunately, not great ones with my old yucky camera)...Yes, we bugged Stephenie's little brother Seth "The Webmaster", who was a guest at our release signing, with all of our silly questions (did you know he goes to SCO with Adam?)...Yes, we got our books at midnight and stopped on the way home for some caffeine to help us stay up reading...And, Yes I finished my book today at noon!!! Does that make me sound even more crazy? I promise I didn't just read between midnight and noon! Okay, most of the night, but I did stop to get my kids up and going and feed my wonderful hubby breakfast - it is his birthday today! Anyway...
LOVED IT!!
Yet another thing that must go down in history...my favorite book ever!! :)

So, now you know what a seriously crazy, obsessed fan I really am! But, at least I was in great company! Thanks ladies for a fantastic night!!

Here we are enjoying yummy food and of course great conversation.

Waiting in line to get our wristbands.

Wristbands ready...just passing the time till the clock struck midnight!

A picture with Seth "The Webmaster"...nice guy!

As you can tell, a few of us were more willing to allow our pictures to be taken...the rest of you are in big trouble! :)

Love you girls! Call me when you finish the book...I can't wait to have someone to talk to about it!!!
