One of the Crazies

You can officially count me in with the crazy deal-seeking coupon ladies! My best friends here in Memphis got me into "couponing" a few weeks ago and we are having a blast finding the best deals. I had a killer day at Walgreens this morning!! Here it is... 

I took advantage of $5 off a $20 purchase Walgreens had going, Register Rewards, Rebates, and stacked my Walgreens and Manufacturer coupons (less than a month ago I wouldn't have known what any of that meant :)

Anyway, I spent $19.76 out of pocket, and will be getting a rebate check from Walgreens for $38.44 in the mail - 

YEP - I "MADE" $18.68 "buying" this stuff!!!

Tons of stuff right!? - this picture doesn't even include the 3 packs of Benefiber they ran out off. The manager let us buy it today and gave us "rainchecks" to pick it up on Tuesday. If I figured it out right, this stuff would all cost somewhere around $160 and I got paid almost $19 to use it!! Talk abut a good coupon day!!

I also found an incredible sale at Dillards on next-year Summer clothes for the kids. They were doing an extra 40% off their 75% off clearance. I got 17 items - shorts, shirts, skirts, dresses...for less than $40!! The most I paid for one item was $4 and most were $2 or less! Cute stuff too - I totaled all the original prices...$351.00!!

Feelin' pretty good about my craziness!!

That's My Sister!!

I just pulled the Deseret Book Christmas Catalog out of the mailbox and was SO EXCITED to see the cover...

The book on the front is The Miracle of the Wooden Shoes by Deborah Pace Rowley - My sister!! It is such a beautiful story and a good reminder of the real reason for the season! Way to go Deb! We are so proud!!

Two Days "Off"

I didn't have preschool on Monday and Tuesday of this week. So, I decided it would be fun to do something just because I wanted to! I have had a bug to do some sewing for a while so I found some screaming deals on fabric and spent my "days off" sewing.

Of course, I couldn't possibly do a little bit of sewing for fun! I somehow decided to sew a million things in just two days! One day I really am going to fix that character flaw! :)

Anyway, my first project was this Sunday bag and crayon roll for Cameron. My diaper bag is always so full of things to keep him occupied in Sacrament meeting - and then I carry it all with me through the rest of the meetings wishing I could just go dump it all in the car. So, that is the plan with this new bag. The material is a little funky for church, but Adam wouldn't stand for anything girly! :)

I thought this crayon roll was such a cute way to keep your crayons together and not in a million pieces! It was a pretty quick and easy project!

 

Then, I found the cutest fabric for so cheap - I just had to do one for Brooklyn too! I revamped the bag for more of a diaper bag for her, and also made her a crayon roll. It is still empty - since she doesn't actually color yet, but one day! :)

I did a ton of pockets in this one - perfect sizes for all my junk! :)

I also sewed a few easy costumes for the kids...no pictures of those yet, I don't want to ruin the Halloween surprise! :)

The Preschool Teacher's Son

Just incase you were wondering what happens when your 2 1/2 yr old goes to preschool five days a week...

Cameron: "Mom, what are these?"

Mom: "Pumpkins"

Cameron: "Great job Mom! Can you count them?"

I am now being quizzed all day! At least I am getting good practice on my shapes, numbers, colors, and alphabet! :)

I was surprised the other day to discover that he can recite the entire Pledge of Allegiance! I just started teaching it to my 4 yr old class a little over a week ago. I was really impressed with how quickly he learned it...and hearing him say all those big words is just too cute!
